What is Biorevitalisation and Mesotherapy?

Updated: Jul 27, 2023

The amount of hyaluronic acid in young people skin is rather high as younger skin appears bright and youthful. However, eventually the amount of “youth elixir” starts to decline unstoppably and, thus, reduces the tones of skin, tightness, elasticity, skin stops looking lively, looks dehydrated and wrinkles are formed. In addition to natural biological ageing, the skin is also affected by photo-ageing, and ageing of skin is additionally stimulated by the UV rays.

Biorevitalisation is used as a treatment for pigmentation, tired or dry skin and signs of ageing. It is a minimally invasive procedure that deeply hydrates and reinvigorates the skin. The infusion of nourishing ingredients is made of tiny injections of hyaluronic acid (HA), vitamins, minerals, amino acids and antioxidants into the upper layers of the skin.

Biorevitalisation injections are delivering nutrients into the epidermis or dermis to hydrate and revitalise the skin. Compared to skin boosters, Biorevitalisation contains a high concentration of non-crosslinked HA. These long chains of HA hydrate and provide antioxidant and anti-inflammatory support for the skin. The addition of other nutrients such as vitamins, antioxidants, minerals and amino acids helps and supports the healthy function of skin cells.

Scientists proved that injecting hyaluronic acid stimulates the synthesis of collagen and enabled moisturizing of the skin. Moreover, patient’s own production of hyaluronic acid was stimulated. Also, derma fibres are formed, therefore creating a lifting effect of the skin’s tissues.

Biorevitalization can be performed in any area of body however, providing that it is safe and beneficial to the patient.

Typically, the procedures are performed in areas such as the face, neck, decolletage lower neck line or hands. These areas of the body are usually subjected to the most UV rays and therefore show a more rapid damage of skin through photo-ageing.

Differences between face biorevitalization and fillers?

A question arises, but what is the difference between face biorevitalization and fillers? Basically they are two aesthetic treatments with the aim of making the skin younger, but biorevitalization has the advantage of better distributing the hyaluronic acid which spreads more easily.

Furthermore, while the filler fills wrinkles superficially, biorevitalization deeply hydrates the skin and, at the same time, stimulates the production of collagen and elastin.

In some cases, biorevitalization and filler can be two treatments to combine to obtain even more visible and lasting results.

How is facial biorevitalization performed?

Facial biorevitalization is an effective anti-aging treatment, able to tone the deep dermis of the face, eliminate forehead wrinkles, expression lines, mouth wrinkles and reduce dark circles. But that's not all: biorevitalization, in fact, is also able to act on other skin imperfections such as pigmentation and dark spots on the face. The main objective, as anticipated, is to block the aging process of the face, through three main actions:

  • restructuring action - promotes cell turnover and stimulates the production of collagen elastin and hyaluronic acid, thus counteracting facial skin relaxation;

  • anti-oxidant action - counteracts the action of free radicals, the main responsible for cellular ageing;

  • moisturising action - stimulates tissue hydration, producing rapid facial rejuvenation and a significant reduction in wrinkles.

Procedure

Facial biorevitalization consists of a series of injections with very thin needles or alternatively with a cannula or derma pen, of hyaluronic acid combined with amino acids and vitamins, in localised areas such as the face, neck décolleté and hands. During face biorevitalization sessions you can combine other treatments such as oxygen therapy, and/or LED light.

Approximately 3 to 6 face biorevitalization sessions are enough to be repeated every 2 or 3 weeks.

For all those who are concerned about any pain during treatment, we can say that the pain is minimal.

Face biorevitalization: contraindications?

Face biorevitalization has no particular contraindications, but some side effects may occur. For example, you may see a slight redness or small bruising caused by the small needle of the syringe. It must also be said that the treatment is contraindicated for pregnant women and for those suffering from herpes in the active phase.

Finally, although extremely rare, some may notice allergic or hypersensitivity reactions to hyaluronic acid.

Mesotherapy is an emerging technique in which vitamins, enzymes, plant extracts and sometimes hormones are injected to the patient’s body in order to rejuvenate and tighten his skin.

This technique is also used to remove stubborn fats.

This technique was originally developed by a French doctor Michel Postor in 1952. Initially, it was used to relieve pain, since then the technique has been used for various other purposes and has gained popularity in the United States and other parts of the world especially in Europe.

These days Mesotherapy is used for:

  • Removing excessive fats from places like thighs, hips, buttocks, stomach, and legs

  • Reducing cellulite

  • Removing wrinkles, scars as well as face lines

  • Re-contouring the body

  • Removing pigmentation from the skin

  • Treating hair fall problems such as alopecia that causes hair loss.

How does it work?

During the procedure, your aesthetician will inject fine needles to deliver a series of injections into the middle layer of your skin known as mesoderm.

Products go inside these layers and help your body to correct underlying issues such as inflammation which causes skin damage as well as poor circulation of blood.

Different types of active ingredients are used in each product.

For every problem there’s a different product, aesthetician may suggest different solutions to a patient.

How long does the result last for?

Results can appear immediately after the first treatment. Treatment effects and duration depends on the degree of correction required and the individual’s lifestyle, age and skin type.

What Products SkinQR Clinic uses for Mesotherapy?

SkinQR's anti-wrinkle mesotherapy drug consisting of 58 active ingredients, including a complex of biomimetic peptides, hyaluronic acid, multi-vitamins and amino acids.

Anti-wrinkle is a rejuvenating and revitalising mesococktail, unique in composition of peptides and hyaluronic acid. A high degree of hydration, smoothing small and reducing the severity of deep wrinkles, reducing scars and rashes, narrowing pores, normalising sebum secretion, as well as increasing skin elasticity, is achieved from the first procedure. Anti-wrinkle – enhanced formula for cellular activation of self-healing facial skin and pronounced lifting. Due to the wide range of biomimetic peptides, unstabilized hyaluronic acid and the rich composition of additional components, a pronounced clinical effect is achieved in a short time:

  1. High skin regeneration and a slowdown in ageing processes are achieved due to: stimulation of cell proliferation and migration, germination of new blood vessels, increased microcirculation, and regulation of apoptosis.

  2. Effective smoothing of wrinkles, lifting the oval of the face, increasing the density and elasticity of the skin is achieved through: stimulation of the synthesis of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid.

  3. Significant moisturising, creating an ideal environment for the proliferation of skin cells, increasing the elasticity of the blood vessel wall, a pronounced anti-inflammatory effect is achieved with 1% hyaluronic acid (1.5 million Da.)

Anti-wrinkle is a clinically tested formula which helps to rejuvenate dehydrated or aged skin. It contains 1% of Hyaluronic Acid with the double concentration of other mesotherapy solutions. It provides the lost volume and binds 1000 times of its own weight in water by re-hydrating and plumping the dermis. It includes recombinant growth factors for a human that naturally rebuilds the dermal collagen. The product also has Rentinal, Glutathione and Ascorbic Acids that work as powerful antioxidants and direct stimulators of collagen that help to reduce pigmentation. This skin rejuvenating Mesotherapy treatment reduces fine lines and wrinkles by producing new skin cells and increasing the elasticity of the skin by generating the synthesis of the collagen.
